Yesterday, another MRVC rake overshot the platform at Grant Road. Eight coaches of the rake went ahead of the platform before the rake stopped. Traffic was thrown out of gear as the
commuters created a ruckus at the station.
This makes four incidents of overshooting in a week. Definitely
something is fishy with the rakes. It is not possible that the
motormen suddenly lose their driving abilities in a week, and start
overshooting, that too with only MRVC rakes. In the same period there
have been no overshoots of DC and 9xx AC/DC EMUs. It is too far
fetched that four incidents of overshooting will happen with the same
type of rakes in one week due to human error.
