Please see this news report. This once again demonstrates the amount of manipulation that MRVC indulges in to project a perfect rosy saintly image of itself. Quoting some parts of the article:
In an attempt to complete phase-I of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) by the year-end, the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has dropped the Oshiwara station project from the list.
According to MRVC sources, as the project started, there was a strong opposition from the public against the closure of a level crossing between Goregoan and Jogeshwari stations. “We wanted to close the level crossing without which work could not have been started. There was public demand to construct a Road over Bridge (ROB),” said an MRVC official.
I strongly condemn such underhand means employed by MRVC. All they care for is their own reputation and prosperity. Citizens of Mumbai be damned. Who cares? The poor souls will fend for themselves.
On the other hand, I am now 100% confident that all the future phases of MUTP will be completed well in time 🙂 The mantra is simple – just shelve the projects which are likely to remain incomplete! This reminds me of the story of the emperor in which an innocent kid speaks the truth about the emperor’s new clothes- ” But the emperor is naked!”. On paper there will be a perfect picture, with all phases being completed on time. In reality, the moment they sense that a particular project will overshoot the deadline, they will drop it from MUTP.
