A few days ago, Bombardier rakes received condonation letter from railway board. Some dimensions of the rake exceeded maximum moving dimensions of Indian Railways Schedule of dimensions. Board’s approval was needed for these infringements to the dimensions.
With this, the rakes have moved one step closer to being introduced in service.
But there is a catch. This condonation is valid for only 6 months, and only for the first two rakes. In this duration some more trials would be performed. I am not sure about the exact implications of these clauses in the condonation letter. Only time will tell
